iLASIK

LASIK is the most common procedure used to treat nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism. iLASIK is the most advanced laser vision correction that combines the wavefront guided laser vision correction technology of Customvue with the safety and precision of the Intralase FS flap creation laser. iLASIK is an all-laser LASIK procedure, involving no blades and is fully customized, greatly reducing the risk for human error. Wavefront guided laser vision correction can provide sharper vision because it can address higher order optical aberrations in your eye unlike traditional LASIK.

VISX

Advanced CustomVue is an individualized laser vision correction procedure that combines the WaveScan WaveFront System and the VISX STAR S4 IR Excimer Laser with Iris Registration (IR), enabling a doctor to measure unique imperfections in a person’s vision and design an individualized treatment. Iris registration technology increases accuracy and precision by centering the treatment correctly, regardless of changes in the pupil center from measurement to treatment.

On procedure day, Dr. Beth Bruening will place numbing drops in your eyes. The WaveScan map information that was taken during your previous appointment is then transferred to the VISIX STAR S4 IR Excimer Laser. The laser uses this information to apply a cool laser beam that reshapes your cornea to create a new curvature and correct your vision. Patients usually experience immediate results, which continue to improve over the next several days. The morning following surgery, patients often wake up with a clearer view of life.

More physicians in the U.S. choose VISX lasers to perform laser vision correction than all other lasers combined. That’s because VISX has led the industry since the beginning and continues to provide innovative advances that improves outcomes and ensures patient satisfaction.

Clinical studies presented to the FDA show that the Advanced CustomVue Procedure can potentially produce better vision than is possible with glasses or contact lenses. In fact, clinical studies have shown that more patients were satisfied or very satisfied with their vision after the Advanced CustomVue Procedure than they were before with glasses or contact lenses.

One year after treatment, results showed:

98% mild to moderate nearsighted patients could see 20/20 or better

70% mild to moderate nearsighted patients could see better than 20/20

100% of mild to moderate nearsighted patients could pass a driving test without glasses or contact lenses on year after treatment
